Betty has long, straight black hairwith caramel balayage highlights that she often styles in a high ponytail or braids. Her almond-shaped eyes are dark brown, and her skin is a warm, golden tone. She has a small nose and full lips, giving her face an attractive and youthful appearance that turns into a focused and determined expression when she's in the ring.

Personality

Betty is a kind-hearted and empathetic person. She has a soft-spoken and gentle demeanor, and is a bit of an introvert. Despite her gentle nature, Betty is also fiercely determined and dedicated to her craft. She has a strong work ethic and is always striving to improve her skills, both inside and outside of the ring. She is not afraid to push herself to her limits and take risks in pursuit of her goals. Betty is also a bit of a perfectionist, and can be hard on herself when things don't go as planned. She holds herself to a high standard and can be her own worst critic at times.

Biography & Background

Xiulin “Betty” Chang was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, where she lived with her parents and older brother. From a young age, Betty showed an interest in martial arts, and at the age of five, her grandfather, a master in several disciplines, began teaching her karate and judo. Betty quickly took to the training and developed a passion for martial arts that has stayed with her throughout her life.

As she grew older, Betty's love for martial arts led her to explore other disciplines, including taekwondo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. She dedicated herself to training and competing in these various martial arts, and over the years, she gained an impressive collection of belts and awards. Her favorite kick, the uchi mawashi geri, became her signature move, and she used it to win many tournaments and matches.

Despite her success in martial arts, Betty remained timid outside of the ring, struggling to find her place in the world. But inside the fighting ring, she found her courage and strength. Betty's success in martial arts led her to pursue a career in professional wrestling. She made her debut in the AWA and had a crazy and hectic first year. In her debut match, she was severely injured by the AWA Women's champion Kurayami. However, she persevered and befriended Lee Connors and the wrestler formerly known as Downpour, who introduced her to the Coltons in Canada and used their connections in Mexico to help her improve her overall wrestling style. Nevertheless, she was ruthlessly beaten by Kurayami yet again and found herself on the wrong end of several matches against Seductive & Destructive, the resident bullies of the AWA women’s division.

During the AWA's winter break, Betty went back home to Seattle and underwent further training with her grandfather. He helped her best incorporate her newfound lucha and technical wrestling techniques and advised her to have more confidence in herself and her abilities, as she had been bullied constantly in the AWA.

As the new year started, Betty returned to the AWA with a new outlook and mindset. She was ready to show the world what she can really do. She remains a work in progress, always striving to improve and perfect her craft.

Dragon Flash — Known in karate as Uchi Mawashi Geri (inner roundhouse kick). Betty feints a low kick and suddenly changes direction, quickly bringing her leg up and whipping it around in a circular motion, nailing her opponent in the head with the instep, ball or heel of her foot. The unexpected change in direction throws off her opponent's defense and creates an opening to catch her opponent off-guard, making it nearly unblockable. The speed, power and precision of the kick often results in a knockout. While all of Betty's kicks can potentially finish a match, this one deserves its own entry based on her history with it. As Betty continued to practice and compete in karate tournaments, she began using the uchi mawashi geri more and more. It quickly became her signature move and helped her win many matches, earning her a reputation as a fierce and unpredictable fighter.

Various knockout kicks — In the world of competitive martial arts, Betty is known for her lightning-fast and devastating kicks. Fortunately for her, this reputation has yet to reach the professional wrestling world. Her signature kick, Uchi Mawashi Geri, is feared by many. However, she also has several other dangerous kicks in her arsenal that can KO an opponent at any moment, including the Rolling Thunder kick, the spinning hook kick and the Axe kick. These may not always finish the match, but they have the potential to.

Strengths

1. Knockout power: Betty's martial arts expertise gives her devastating striking ability that can knock out her opponents.
2. Agility: Betty is incredibly agile and quick on her feet, allowing her to evade attacks and land strikes at lightning speed.
3. Versatility: Betty's training in various martial arts and professional wrestling styles, makes her a well-rounded wrestler, able to use different techniques and approaches to adapt to different opponents.

Weaknesses

1. Glass cannon: While Betty has immense striking power, her small stature means she cannot take nearly as much punishment as others and is just as susceptible to being knocked out herself.
2. Timidity: Betty can be hesitant or timid outside of the ring, which can make her vulnerable to mind games or intimidation.
3. Inexperience: As a relative newcomer to the professional wrestling scene, Betty is still learning and developing her skills. This lack of experience could leave her vulnerable to more seasoned opponents who can exploit her weaknesses.

Character & Presentation

Adorkable face

In-Ring Repertoire

Finisher

Shattered Heaven
A combination of two moves. With her opponent down near the corner, Betty grabs onto the top rope and leaps onto the bottom turnbuckle, using it as a springboard as she goes almost into a full handstand, before pushing off and leaping backwards, nailing her opponent with a double stomp. She immediately does a backwards roll upon landing the double stomp and gets back on her feet, hitting her opponent with a running shooting star press.

Signature Moves

O-goshi
A judo hip throw. Despite Betty's small size, she is able to successfully perform this throw on people up to twice her weight since it relies on leverage, rather than physical strength. Betty wraps her arm around her opponent's waist and uses her other arm to grip their wrist. She then pivots and pulls, explosively lifting her opponent off the ground with her hip and drives forward, twisting to the side and slamming her opponent into the ground, while landing on top of them. From there, she will attempt to transition to a juji gatame (deoaonppp
Rolling Thunder kick
A high-risk, high-reward move. Betty leaps into the air, corkscrewing 360 degrees before attempting to catch her opponent in the head with a powerful kick. If she misses, she leaves herself completely open for a counter-attack.
Split the Heavens
Known as Ganseki otoshi in aikido, Betty Chang uses it as a way to surprise and shock her opponents with her strength and skill. In this move, Betty grabs her opponent's wrist(sometimes she does it as a counter to an attack) and ducks under their arm, before grabbing the back of their beltline, and lifting the opponent off the ground into a position similar to a torture rack. With her hand still holding onto the wrist, she flips her opponent over onto the mat with a powerful throw.
Known as Seoi Nage (shoulder throw) in judo, Betty grabs her opponent by the wrist and arm, pivots and throws them over her shoulder and onto their back. She will often hold onto the grip and roll through to pull her opponent back up to their feet and throw them with another Seoi Nage. She can do this several times in a row, shockingly ragdolling her often much larger opponents.
Fallen Sun
A standing moonsault double kneedrop. Taking inspiration from her friend Lee Connors' more dangerous shooting star press double kneedrop, Betty's adapted that move into something that she can unleash quickly and efficiently.

Other Moves

Powerful strikes
Years of martial arts training has allowed Betty to develop incredible striking power. Her punches and kicks pack a wallop that no one would expect from someone as small as her.
Springboard armdrag takedown
Kata gurama
The judo version of a fireman’s carry takedown. Betty grabs her opponent’s wrist and swiftly lifts them onto her shoulders before throwing them onto the ground. While still holding onto the wrist, she strikes down with a swift punch right into her opponent’s exposed midsection. Most non-Sal Albano announcers would probably just call it a fireman’s carry.
Handspring enzuigiri
When whipped into the ropes, Betty handsprings forward and rebounds off them, before leaping into the air and cracking her opponent in the head with a surprising enzuigiri.
Martial arts flurry
A blindingly fast barrage of punches and kicks from all sides to her opponent, usually ending with a spinning back kick that doubles them over, followed by a fully extended Axe kick that drops them face-first into the canvas.
BJJ submissions
Triangle choke, Guillotine choke, rear-naked choke
9 mounted punches in the corner to an opponent as the crowd counts along, followed by leaping off and hitting her opponent with a “12 to 6” elbow on the way down as the crowd yells “TEN!
Elbow uppercut
Tilt-a-whirl headscissors as a counter
SWEEP THE LEG!
Your standard karate legsweep.
Northern Lights suplex
Run up the turnbuckles tornado bulldog
Hurricanrana
Standing, running, springboard, off the top
Shotgun dropkick to a kneeling opponent
Osoto gari -Like an STO, but just with the leg sweep part. Betty usually uses this as a set-up something else
La Quebrada
A springboard moonsault off the second rope to the outside. Something she learned down Mexico way.
Flying Thunder God
A flying jump kick off the top rope. The sheer distance she can cover on this kick is inhuman.
Standing shiranui
Corkscrew sell on a clothesline
Getting tossed around like a small child
The ability to almost always land on her feet
Irimi-Nage
An aikido throw that looks a lot like a clothesline, but Betty is actually pushing down on the opponent’s collarbone with her arm and shoving them down with leverage. It is not a strike, but actually a type of throw and the impact is on the back, not from a strike. Most announcers wouldn’t be able to tell the difference and just think Betty is hitting monstrous lariats on her opponent with how easily they fall.
