Cinder

Cinder is ghostly pale. A mane of long, fiery orange and red dyed hair reaches to her shoulders and over her forehead to her eyes. She likes to play up her vampiric appearance, liberally applying raccoon-like eyeshadow and glossing her lips a bloody red. Her ring attire reflects her goth-punk aesthetic: metal studded red leather and black velvet crop top, criss-crossed with bands in the shape of a pentagram, with banded patchwork ring pants to match.

Jennifer-Sapphire Castle has not had what one might call a normal childhood. She is the youngest of the four children of married grapplers Sorell Castle and Davey Castle. Sorell and Davey (and later the entire Castle family) would terrorize the ring in every holiday camp or carnival they appeared at throughout Great Britain. Much of Jenny-Sapphire's upbringing was nomadic, only settling in the Glasgow region in her mid-teens.

Having spent years closely tied to wrestling, when there was an opening on the card, she was often required to fill it. ìSapphire Castleî's first professional match was at the age of 13. Often her toughest matches were against her own mother Sorell. Although her win/loss record was less than stellar, she showed a fire and determination that her siblings seemed to lack; when rumour started that the world's top wrestling organization would inaugurate a Women's Division, Sapphire made the AWA her goal.

Following a tragic caravan fire that wiped out much of the Castle family's belongings, she renamed herself Cinder and entered into an AWA-sponsored tournament to find the UK's top female prospect. Cinder, a dark horse the entire tournament, won in spectacular fashion and was scheduled for a match on Saturday Night Wrestling's first telecast from London.

Sadly for Cinder, her opponent that night was Erica Toughill, who spent much of 2016 rampaging through the AWA's Women Division. But unlike the majority of Toughill's opponents that year, Cinder fearlessly approached her after the match and asked for advice, having subconsciously mistaken Toughill's brutality as maternal tough love. Impressed with the young Scot's brazenness and resiliency, Toughill became something of a secret mentor to Cinder. Cinder, for her part, impressed the AWA management enough to be offered a contract with Combat Corner, where she would split her time between working for CCW, dark matches before Saturday Night Wrestling, and private training with her ìfairy god-mumî Toughill.

Cinder was offered an AWA contract after winning the controversial 2017 edition of the Empress Cup. Barely into her twenties, she has silently waited in the shadows until she was ready to be unleashed ìfer sem heavy ragin'.î

Sell me on it: An injection of controlled chaos and deceit into the Women's Division.

RO: And her opponent/Introducing first... From Kilmarnock, Scotland... weighing in at eight-and-one-half stone...

[Through the entrance slinks a hooded, ghostly and grinning grappler. Her hands are clasped behind her back.]

RO: ...CINNNNNNNNNDERRRRRRR!

[She tears back the hood revealing the mane of orange and blood red hair that drips over her shoulders and over her dark, heavily-shadowed eyes. She glides down the aisle in wide steps, then circles the ring.]

{ANNOUNCER BANTER}

[Cinder slithers onto the ring apron; she is ghostly pale, quite a contrast from her black velvet and blood red ring attire. She climbs to the middle rope, hooks an ankle underneath the turnbuckle, crosses her arms over her chest and inverts her body, hanging upside down like a bat, licking her cherry red lips.]
